SMALL
These are a series of poems I wrote back in my university poetry class.

#6
Who am I?
No matter how much I try
I cannot become one of you.
No matter how much I dye
My hair
No matter how well I wear
My lenses
I cannot become like you all.
#7
The days when we thought
You need to wear "preppy" clothes
To be considered "cool."
To say certain words and
Show certain gestures
To be counted in a clique.
Having a boyfriend or girlfriend
Was a rule
Joining the cheerleading or
The football team
Was a must
And what a great sin it was
If you didn't stay away
From all the nerds, geeks, and losers
Of the school.
The days when we were
So worried to be judged
That we judged others
And ourselves.
The days of our middle school years.
